Leon
Here's the little guy standing in the glass porch area by the kitchen. As you can see the snow has dissapeared from the porch and we are all glad for that. He's busy everyday playing golf, basketball, with cars/trucks, building blocks, pooh and tiger, you name it... We are at home this easter with family stuff, looking forward to a week off!

Roundball and Easter

I was watching the ncaa last night and I was so pleased to see the Kentucky team loose to West Virgina, it's not that I'm was rooting for any team in particular, well, that's not true, I have been hoping all season that KU would loose in the tournament. I have seen them play many times this year and the way they held themselves this season was, in my opinion, not the way champions do it. By held themselves I mean their attitude twords the teams they played, the refs, and the media. I can just observe what I see, and make my conclusions from that. The WV team just found a way to win, they hit so many three point shots that it was unreal, they did not make a two point goal until sometime in the second half. Was great to see. Anyway, in the other game, the Butler team was just a team, they worked together the whole game at both ends of the floor, together, and it was really fantastic to see them beat the Kansas State squad. I am looking forward to tonights games and see who the last two teams will be to make the final 4.
Easter is a funny one, just like all the other big business holidays and I don't buy into it one bit. Just like Halloween, Valentines, 4th of July, xmas, all of them, they have been taken over by big business and it seems like the whole point is for 'us' the consumer to buy, buy, buy.... Uff da if you ask me. It's like the people think that they have to have the right decorations, the right colors, the right food, the right gifts, the correct gift card.. for which-ever holiday just happens to be around the corner. I am lucky I guess that my wife dosn't buy into all this, so that makes it much easier and we can hold us to the things we think are important. I have been together with my wife now for over 15 years and have NEVER bought a Valentines gift for her, never have, never will, if she needs a Valentines gift from me to secure her feelings then there is most likely something else fundamentaly wrong in the relationship. Ya ya, here I go sharing my private life again... We of course buy some xmas and birthday gifts, but other than that we don't see the overall point in feeling that we have to buy something for 'all the other' holiday's. BUT of course it's a personal choice, and I respect others who choose to buy all the different stuff all through-out the year. It's all about making the choices that you feel are correct and 'right' for you... Gotta run and see what my boy is doing...

March Madness - Sweet 16

Ya da git... Have been keeping in touch with my basketball the last days and have seen many good games! There have been some upsets long the way and I have enjoyed all of those!! Nothing really more than that happening here in Norway now, basketball and waiting for the snow to melt away. We are 5 degrees today and are hoping that spring is just around the corner. Tech speaking we are in the spring months and it should be getting warmer. Yeah, yeah.... golf news? Tiger is coming back for the Masters, I mean that I have written that down someplace here on the blog, that I thought he would make it back for the years first major. He does not want the years to slip away without getting all the chances possible to break Jack's record. For those of you who don't know who Jack is, well, type Jack and then the word golf into google and see what you get! Have hoops in a couple hours and I am always looking forward to that, the kids just work so hard, well, most of the time anyway. Sometimes I have to remind them to concentrate a 100% but they are quick learners for the most part and good kids. Take care and enjoy the hoops, I am hoping that St Mary's makes it to the final four, but they have to get by Duke and that's not so easy.

Ernie!!

Was cool to hear that The Big Easy won the last World Golf Championship! He has always been one of my favorite players. Plus with the personal problems with his health and the stress he must have had during the discovery that his boy has down syndrome. I did not see the victory, but heard about it from a friend, I have been watching as much of the college hoops as possible trying to learn something. I keep telling the wife that, it's my job ,-) I think see buys it, hahaha. Anyway, nothing happening today, just the 'same old, same old' and that's just super actually. Don't need the drama here vet du. The snow is melting and maybe, just maybe we have seen the last of the snow for this year? I have seen the snow here in Norway on the 17 th of May, that was in 1995 and I guess 'global warming' has saved us from a new ice age... That's the latest I've heard about that scam. I mean please, carbon dioxcide being dangerous.. it's what every breathing thing on the planet exhales every time we take a breath... all things that grow need it to survive to produce oxygen for us humans... Maybe I'll write some more on this on the Norgelish blog.. and for those interested in hoops, check out the teams blog.. Take care everyone and be good ,-)

Having to choose...

Choose, choose, choose.... or making decision based on the knowledge you have at your fingertips, the facts as you can feel them, or what? I have had the experience of having ot make a hard choice today, been waiting to see the heart specialist, have got a appointment and of course it does not get written down in all the calanders and we double book me, have to work a night shift tommorrow and am supposed to sleep so long as possible so I can be awake the whole night, but no no.. we have booked a counseling session at 1030 and my doctor's appt was at 900, which would take 90 min, so I have to make a choice, cancel all and sleep as long as possible, cancel one and get up earlly, or just cancel one and sleep until 1000.... Tough to choose. I know there are many who would say, of course you have to go the heart specialist, you've been waiting for over three months to get an appt, well, this being true, I really do feel like there is no choice for me, I can't do all these things in the same day and maybe this sounds even more weird, my relationship with my wife takes precedent over the heart problems right now, I don't know what the heart specialist is going to do or say but I had to make a choice - I had to choose - and the effect of the choice in the long run is what we have to wait and see about. Yada.. some people might be asking or wondering - why write about this? Well, it's my blog and like I've stated b4 this is one of my ways to self-help. I'm doing this for myself and my family first and foremost. I know some of my 'students' check out the blog from time to time and I have been told by many that these kinds of posts do actualy help others as well. That's great, getting two flies with one smack... helping myself and others. Cool if you ask me. Some might add, 'your really putting yourself out there for everyone to see, your sharing your private thoughts in a complete public forum...' ya da.. I have been doing that more or less for the last 20 years, so who really cares what I think anyway? Me, my wife, my kids, my students/players - that's about it I'd guess, and that's just the way it should be, right? Anyway, just a little slice of my thoughts ,-)

No Sleep - No Happy
Ya da, three night shifts in a row... whew... Bed time now. Three days is tough when you get maybe 5-6 hours of 'daytime' sleep. Only have that once in 8 weeks so it's ok, but I normally get a bit more sleep than I have this past week. A little stressed for some reason, maybe the thought of the fams going to gobble gobble land with out me and I'll be on my own thing too.. that plus other things, ja ja whew, tired now... "Natta" da ,-)
