My "now human situation":
Things done changed, now life is again almost all about golf... Teaching? No. Playing? Yes. I am defiant in my meanings this time. Make it or bust. Yes, that's right, going for everything, giving my whole self (minus my other "whole life", which is my two wonderful kids) to the one achievement-making the European Senior Tour-2021.
Something I call 2021 or Bust - Playing competitive tournament golf is never easy, many long car rides, meals by oneself - basically a professional golfer must enjoy lots of time by oneself and staying motivated by oneself. Expensive it is as well and that's why I am hoping that some of my readers might have a little extra, something that might help me reach my goals, by donating. Every little bit helps and I want thank you all so much!!
🏁🏆🏁🏆😊😊
Hmm, someone is thinking out there, maybe even, this guy is a little nuts... well, maybe I am, but I am going to die a very happy man, with NO regrets what so ever... I love my kids more than life itself, they are the sun of my universe and I could not live without them.
I started thinking about two years ago, they are not my entire life, just a very very important part of it, the most important part, but they are not my whole life.
I must live my life, the whole of it and live for my own dreams and I have to know...
I have to see it with my own eyes, feel it with my whole body and soul...
I have just one life, and it's mine to live to the fullest, going for it, taking a chance, having dreams, has always been my thing, what ever it might have been growing up, I went for it, basketball, golf, jobs, school, just about anything I really wanted.
Can one just stop being themselves?
I feel I have to show my kids that's its all right to chase your dreams, give everything one has and think you are something more than just flesh and blood.
Keeping it inside, letting it strengthen ones resolve to challenge oneself and try and be the best one can be, for yourself...
It's not wrong to think that, it's just confidence in ones ability's to do the task at hand, believing in oneself is not a bad thing, trying to live your dreams and using almost every waking moment to concentrate on your dreams.
Concentrate on just that one thing, visualize yourself doing it, making it, being whatever it might be... believing in yourself is so important!
Anyway... I could go on and on explaining myself into oblivion here, but there is really no point, my mind is made up and here goes nothing... or I should say here goes EVERYTHING!

A few words about my 'golf life':
I have been active in playing and coaching the game since I was about 15 years old. Coached over a 1500 junior golfers at my home club in US, Rock Creek Country Club in Portland Or with my Head Pro's Scott Nash and Robert Croskrey. Played for my college golf teams. Started my PGA education at Pumpkin Ridge under the hand of Hall of Fame Club Professional Jerry Mowalds in 1994. Finished it in Norway. Worked as an assistant professional for about 6 years. Head Professional for about 15 years after that. I have always enjoyed learning, working and improving myself, as a professional golfer, both as coach and player but most importantly as a person.
I have coached many juniors who have either gone on to be playing professionals or club professionals themselves. Probably one of the most rewarding things is to have a kid become a pro and know he or she did that maybe a little because of me.. cool I think!!
I especially enjoy the individual aspects coaching or teaching golf has to offer, it's very rewarding when you work with players who really want to get better. Have played most of the golf tours that can be found in Scandinavia. The game takes so much time to practice and maintain the skills required to really compete as a professional golfer, at almost any level.
Golf is a tough game, I have never or will ever master it, but there have been periods in my golfing career that still give me hope. I still have dreams when it comes to my own golf, and I am confident that through hard work, practice and desire I'll be able to achieve my goals as a player...gotta dream big and go for it!
2020 or Bust!!
A few words about my 'basketball life:
Played the game most of my adolesent and young adult life. Last time I played professionally was here in Norway in 96-97. Started coaching with "my hall of fame" high school coach Ken Harris when I was 15-16 at the basketball schools he ran during the school year and summer. I have more or less been coaching ever since. My high school team won it's only state championship in 1987 and we won our conference title 4 years in a row, something that I think has yet to be matched. Mr Harris was a great coach and I learned a lot form him. Played for two years at Linfield College. Then I was lucky to play for Robert Gaillard at Lewis and Clark College my last two years of college hoops. This guy was also a great coach, he was the NCAA Div 1 coach of the year back in 1978 at U of San Francisco.
While in Norway I have been lucky to have coached several very good male and female players that have played or have gone on to play for the national teams here in Norway. I coached the defending national champion div 1 team from Halden in 04 and 05 and led the U18 girls team to a 4th place in the national tournament in 06. From 2008-2012 I was Sports Leader for Fredrikstad Basketball Klubb, coached my own teams while having responsibilities for teaching the younger coaches..
Coaching the game is a great joy,, working with young men or women who really do love the game and want to achieve something great for themselves through the vehicle of basketball - and/or team sports.
