Accountability or the Ability to be counted??

In my opinion, the human experience is divided into many different 'things' and one of these 'things' of most importance is having accountability or at least the effort given to achieve being accountable. Being without accountability is like not being real, if I don't have accountabilty then how can the people around me count on my word or actions? Good question? The ability to account for each other is like saying - 'I've got your back - you've got my back..." The amount of accountability I have experienced through the years is not much, there are a few people I have had the experience to work, play, coach with that have this 'thing' called accountablity, BUT it's a very, very small list. Does this mean that I have 'always' been accountable? No. Like many things here in this life, in hope, we get better with age and our ability to be accounted for, greater. Coaching and accountability? How do these things 'hang together' and how does one human affect other's accountability? Tough questions and even tougher answers. I believe it's impossible to affect one's accountabilty by imposing some kind of power based control, by this I mean if a person hold's a 'higher' post than another and that person try's to impose his will on the other and try to use the 'higher' post to try and create change in behavior. Without diving head first into a subject that can take a long time to discuss and evaluate, this idea of changing anothers accountabilty can only happen if the person themselves wants to understand his own behavior. Coaching a person with the hope that they will be enlighted into an understanding of the importance of accountabiltiy both individualy and within the different social situations they find themselves in. All individual change in my opinion is a result of trying to achieve 'a goal' or 'goals'. Without the idea of goals and the understanding of how to achieve them, it's hard to be accountable to one's self or anyone else..... There is a specific reason I'm writing this and the person who it's directed to - Take the time that's needed to divulge and let's hope it helps!!
