The Big Cat is back and he's causing waves in the golf world as always. I have a Twitter account and follow a good many other professional golfers there and some of the reactions are just so great to see, While others are saying things like he gets to much tv time, does not deserve to jump so much in the world rankings and other jealous remarks that are really just quite sad. Grown men who misjudge their own importance in the golfing community. I won't name names but just check Twitter yourselves. You'll see it among all the other of us, that are just happy and humbled to see the great player once again stalking the fairways and most likely making more birdies than the rest of the field - just like he did in his first comeback from 16 months away after an extensive back surgery.
I can remember watching Tiger win his third US Amature at Pumkin Ridge Golf Club in 1996. I had worked there in 1994 while starting my own PGA schooling. He was amazing then and still is. Never has a player changed the game of golf as he did. Arnold brought it to the people and Jack rewrote the record books giving us the first player to dominate in a way no one had seen - Then the Big Cat said 'Hello world' days after that last US Amature win and the change began that we see today.
I have always been a huge Tiger fan, no matter the mistakes he made in leading up to the disgrace he had in 2009 or any other hiccup he has had along the way - he still is the most important player in modern history. The tv ratings from the Hero shows the so called Tiger effect - it's like nothing we've ever seen in any other sport and all the haters can just back up off and instead thank the man for giving them the increase of money they play for each and every week. Even the Ryder Cup team showed him - they made 'Let's make Tiger great again' t-shirts - showing their respect and love for the man.
I root for him everytime, every single time and I hope he makes true his goals in the future, I believe that at some point in the future he will break the 18 mark set by Jack - I am tipping 20 will be the magic number when it's all said and done. Being a Tiger fan is like being a Yankee fan, or a Patriots fan...you are either a fan for life or not. I can say with pride that I never have doubted his comeback, that he would make it back to the biggest stage and prove himself again. Visit Twitteer all of you and see for yourself... aloof golf professionals hating the man, the player and lets not forget his foundation and all the money he gives back...it's quite unreal....
GO TIGER WOOOOO!!!!
