Told you so...Tiger wins!!

First place, a winner, a champion again...Tiger Woods wins again, and not just any title, but the Players Championship!! I have written about, talked about this happening for years and years with nothing but negative comments, and people telling me how stupid I was...he'll never win again, how many times have I heard it? Way to much, but it's nice, especially about this topic, I just love to say - I told you so....

Today!!!

Today, in a few hours it all begins... Maybe the most expected Masters we've had for many, many years. Even the players are saying it, lots of different guys that could win this week. I am pulling for the Tiger. How cool it would be to see the faces of all the people who have said he'll NEVER return to play and at least not as well has he has before...

Ha ha ha.. he's back, with that Tiger speed, and with his talent I'd say to all the nay-say'ers that boo ho ho... I love it. I guess some people just don't understand how good and what kind of athlete he is. Ja ja.. enough about that... Watched all the interviews on the Masters home page last night and it's cool to hear what the best players in the world think about golf related things...and especially the Masters!!

Back in business here at home, looking for the weather to change even more.. it's still cold and there is some remnants of snow here and there, plus the ground is still frozen in many places even if the snow is gone... I had hoped that golf season would have been going here when I got home but ok, you can't do anything about the weather. Here's hoping all my readers are doing good, life is treating you all well and I really do wish you all the best of luck this season!!

2 Days...

Only two more days and it's Masters week...I for one am really looking forward to seeing Tiger out there again, feeling like himself with a real chance to maybe start a special season. It's my personal belief that he'll win several majors more if he stays healthy and all that.. He's the best player of the modern era and if he surpasses Jack with major wins... well, then there will be no doubt - like there was any...

People and maybe himself are seeing past his very open faults now, he's being appreciated once again and I believe he feels it from the people and maybe that's one of the big reasons he still trying, not just because of his own personal goals but that fact that he shares our love of the game and wanting to be his best self on the course and off. Always been a big fan - always will 😊😊😊

It's starting to melt...

It's a cool picture with the home of golf in the background 😊 Arrived to find the snow melting, the temp is about plus 5-6 degrees the last few days and it almost smells like spring is just around the corner...had hoped to find no snow but it's still only March and I know so very well that it can always snow again and dip below freezing...but you gotta have hope. Been looking over the tournament schedule and it looks like there is 10-12 tournaments that I should be able to play in...the first one is the first week in June..like I said in the earlier post, there are two tournaments at the end of April that I might play if the game is a little bit better than rusty. Just have to wait and see, might be smart to save as much money as possible to the start of June and be able to travel a couple, three weeks at a time...bla bla bla I know, I know... hehe... see you all another time soon, going to try and post more this season - hope there is something good to report too...thanks for checking in 😊😊😊

16 Days...

16 days and counting until the seasons first and best major...Just around the corner, the sounds and sights of the worlds best golfers playing at arguably one the best golf courses in history, Augusta National. It's about the same each and every year since I moved to Norway in 95', after 6-7 months of cold, snow and more cold, it's just around the corner - The Masters and if everything goes ok weather wise we might be playing some golf too. Last year the courses in the south eastern part of Norway opened around the middle of April and let's hope it comes even sooner this year.

There are two tournaments at the end of April in the southern part of Sweden and I am keeping my options open - would be nice to get two tournaments early but only if the game is somewhat there. Last season, well, you can read about the experience I had and maybe if I decide to wait until June to start playing tournaments...we'll just have to wait and see what happens with the weather.

Have taken a good period free from anything golf related until about a month ago, except putting, still work on that everyday and I feel good about it -  all of it. Just have to be calm and have some patience no matter what happens. Anyway, looking forward to getting some grass under my feet back in Norway.  Hope that everyone who reads my stuff is doing good and to those of you who just got here by accident - well, I guess you might have been looking for something else...and that's ok too :)

Blankedness....

Can someone really understand? I'm assuming with a population of 6-7 billion people on this spinning globe, hurling through space at unthinkable speed that someone our there understands this idea or maybe the feeling of blankedness or both... I'm just a canvas for my life, just like every reader I might have 'out there' and their own lives. Try it... close your eyes and try to paint a canvas/your life's canvas...can you do it? If you had to put your whole life into one painting, what would it look like?

I believe that there is no right answer or correct painting - it's all in your own mind and life...

Something to think about...

Event #10 - GΓΈteborg Golf Club

19/20 August - Played this old course layout poorly and felt the pain in my ankle and knee all to well this tournament. Two rounds in the low 80's and slamming the trunk outta here. Have one more tournament this season -  the club championship at Gamle Fredrikstad GK. Have no real expectations about it and maybe I should not play...feeling like the game is just not there and it is depressing - have used my golf season to try and improve at the same time play well..not an easy task when your trying to change a few things. Looking forward to next season and I hope that things will all come together and maybe I'll reach some of my goals for the 2018 season. Two more to go and it's qualification time!!

Event #9 - RΓ₯ttviks Golf Club

07/08 of August found me playing a course I have played well at before...My first round was level par 71 and I was 5-6 shots behind the leader and this round turned out to be my best tournament round of the season. It could have been much better if some puts had dropped. My second round was not that great and struggled home with a 5 over 76. Heading back to Norway now, have been on the road for four weeks and am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. Have two tournaments left on my schedule plus the club championship at GFGK.

Event #8 - Malaro Golf Club

01/02 -August
This was nice. The course was in super condition and I enjoyed playing even if I played like crap with the putter...First round I hit 16 greens in regulation but limped off the course with a disgusting 79 and a whole bunch of shots behind the leader. Had to get up early and got around the course in a sad 80. My putting is to blame and I need to really make some adjustments this winter -  going back to something I have used all the years I've played except for this season. You have to go with what works and maybe give a crap in how it looks.

Event # 7 - Hogbo Open

Hogbo Golf Club - 29/30 July - not too far from Stockholm and a course that should have matched my game well. My first round was a slow and boring 76 which found me again way behind the leader who went 6 under if my memory serves me correct. Again, feeling a bit sour because the game is getting there but the putting is letting me down a bit and have been having problem making the birdie chances count. The second round was the same 76 and was uneventful except for a incredible par save on the 17th... hit my drive a little to far right into the crowd and had to make a 4 iron screech under some tree branches all the while making sure that I got some fade on the ball.. just short of the green and a good up and down to save par. That four iron was one my best shots ever...and was fun.

Event # 6 - Burviks Open

The Burviks Open was played on the 26/27 of July and this was a course that should have been made for me but it wasn't to be... after 9 holes the first day I was level par and thought I would make a couple birdies the last nine but I went 4 over and was 8 shots behind the leader who shot 68 to my 76. The second round was about the same, one over after 9 and plus 4 on the back nine for a 77. The course was in good shape, greens good and the course was fun to play.  Have been working on my putting the past weeks and have not really seen big progress but will continue to try of course. Going back to an older method with a new putter can take awhile to be comfortable. My driving of the ball is good, my iron play needs improvement but it's getting there. New tournament in two days.

Event # 5 - Landeryds Open

Landeryds Golf Club was close to LinkΓΈpling which is not to far from Stockholm and was a real nice place to visit. I had with me my son Leon who was a good support for me this tournament. I played poorly these two days, my ball striking was not where it needed to be, the course was very difficult and I just didn't get the job done. My right ankle is hurting and I am going to have to see what the problem is after the season is finished.  It hurts and I know it affects me and the way I play. The course was in super shape, the greens pure  and the golfing should have been better. Had two rounds in the 80's and after the first round I was so many shots behind the leader that my motivation was poor and the second round proved that without that the scoring will suffer.
