Antelope Valley CC

Pro Mike and KP on the putting green after my morning round. Mike and all the Pro's have been so great, thanks again guys. Playing again early tomorrow and then off to Palm Springs!!!

Antelope Valley CC

Here's Amanda putting. Amanda got up early with me today and we played 18 holes and were done b4 noon! She's a great help for me on the course and we have a lot of fun! I played better today, shot a 40 on the front nine and 35 on the back, Amanda "helped" me with finding out what has been bothering me the last couple days, my hands were a little to close together and that was causing me to over compensate. After I got my right hand a bit further down on the grip it really helped in hitting quality shots and I was actually hitting the ball where I was aiming!! YIPPEE!! Made some nice putts and the short game is coming around nicely and with Amanda's further "help" I might actually be posting some good numbers soon. We are really enjoying our time here at Antelope Valley and the people here have been just so hospitable and generous! Thanks a bunch AVCC!

Antelope Valley CC

Played with these real nice gentlemen today. The gentleman on my right is Scott Richardson who has played on the Gateway Tour and other mini tours the last year or so.. he is planning on playing the Golden Gate Tour, I think that is what it is called here in California. He grew up in Orange County and grew up playing vs. Tiger in his Jr golf days. Have played the last couple days with him and some other good players including Mike Stiltsen who is one of the pro's at the club. The gentleman on my left is Laurence, a friend of Scott's. He is the assistant golf coach at Antelope Valley Community College. He is planning on playing the Canadian Tour this next season. Both played some good golf today, wish I could say the same.. Went around again in 77. Just have not been feeling the swing very well the past days, my timing is a little off and I feel like I'm not getting the most out my game. BUT that's one of the reasons I'm here too!!! Feel like it is coming around and with some good practice and if I just keep playing and keeping a positive attitude out there, things will come back better than ever b4.  Been getting up at 0600 the past 5 days or so and practicing and playing until about 1200, it's early but by doing it that way I get to spend the rest of the day with my family. The weather is getting a little warmer and we are hoping that the trend continues! The gentleman who took the picture is Steve, a nice man who works at the club as well as a local golf shop called the House of Golf. We had a great day out on the course even if Laurence and I lost some cash. Scott was a real gentleman and bought me lunch afterwards. Thanks again guys and I hope we can get a rematch b4 I leave for Norway!! Palm Springs is the next stop, we leave on thursday and will be visiting my mom there. (plus a little golf for KP)  :-)

Antelope Valley CC

Hole number 11 at the club. About 175 mt over the water par 3. The course was pretty good and the greens were super fast. Shot a 77 with only 8 greens hit in regulation. 11 pars, 6 bogs, and just one bird. Was having problems with the yardage.. Need to get a rangefinder to get the meters right and have the chance to get the most out of playing and practicing.

Day two...

California Adventure Park! This was the other park at Disneyland. More just a theme park and there was some super rides there. There was less people at this park this day because of the weather, a little cold but no rain.. We all had a great time!

Disneyland!!

Amanda and me at the entrance of Disneyland. This was the first day of the two we were at parks.

A.V.C.C.

The pitching green at the club. Here I can hit pitch shots up to 75 meters! The club professionals have been great to me. I have not had a chance to play yet but am going to try maybe early tomorrow morning!

Antelope Valley Country Club

The biggest of the putting greens at the club I've been allowed to practice and play at!  The club is about a 8 minute walk from my Dad's house, seems like a nice club. The weather has been about 20 degrees during the day and about 2 degrees at night. Have a little jet lag and so do the girls, but we are getting settled well. Heading for Disney Land on Monday! The greens are about 12 on the stimp.. The ball is rolling good!

Big Mark at Onsøy...

Here you have it, Big Mark in action this past weekend! We had a great weekend with golf and the golf course was in super shape considering it's the middle of winter! The ball was actually rolling pretty good after the "dugg" was gone a bit after 1pm. The course was a little soggy in a few places but it was a pleasant surprise to be able to play some golf and visit with one of my best bud's. Thanks again Mark, had a great weekend! KP

Leon eating dinner...

Leon is hungry! If he eats dinner like his pappa he might get real.big! Hahaha

Two more times...

This week and the next will be my last two weeks with the juniors before I make the trip to my homeland. I have have had some real good practices with the kids these past weeks and I am planning on giving each of the older players the chance to work after an individual program, something I hope they put to good use!! I am of course looking forward to coming "home", it will be the first time in about eight years. Will be staying with my father in southern California, so I'll be working hard on my game myself with hopes of playing some good golf next season as well!! Of course the whole family is coming too. Our first family vacation in quite a while. Some of the highlights will be Disneyland, taking a visit with my mother in Palm Springs, and working the ATT & T Classic for the Champions Tour. My unkle Don was a fire fighter in LA for many years and those guys have the 1st hole marshel job. So I'll get to meet all my heros growing up, that will be super cool!!! Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to fill out one of the thursday pro-am balls. Taking my clubs just in case! :-) Well, this past weekend was great for golf and football fans, Tiger got us started by making an incredible back nine rally to win at Dubai, J B Holms beat world number two Phil in a playoff at the FBR and of course the NY Giants took it to the NE Patriots beating them in Superbowl XVII. Great weekend for the sports nut I am!! Anyway, gotta run, will be blogging again b4 I leave...KP
